Alessandro Lella
Current position:
PhD student at University of Bari
Affiliation:
University of Bari – INFN
Field of research:
Theoretical Astroparticle physics
What is your career trajectory to date?
I started my Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 2017 and I graduated in 2020. Then I started my Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics and I graduated in 2022. Currently, I am a PhD student at University of Bari in the group of Prof. Alessandro Mirizzi.
What are the most exciting open questions in your research area?
In my opinion, the discovery of the nature of the Dark Matter. After 50 years of research, we still have very poor knowledge of its main properties but we can clearly see its effects. It is incredibly fascinating!
What role do you think a network like COSMIC WISPers can play in developing WISP searches in Europe ?
I think that the COST Action CA21106: Cosmic WISPers is a great opportunity to build a solid network among all the European researchers interested in weakly-interacting particles. The organization of periodic scientific meetings helps the Action members to share their own ideas on relevant topics related to the Action field of interest. Moreover, short term scientific missions encourage researchers to start new scientific collaboration, leading to faster developments of new research areas.
