COSMIC WISPER :
Amelia Drew
Current position:
Junior Research Fellow, Homerton College, University of Cambridge
Affiliation:
Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics
Field of research:
Axion Strings, Adaptive Mesh Refinement, Numerical Relativity
What is your career trajectory to date?
All Cambridge (so far…)! 4 years of an integrated Master’s Degree, 4 years of PhD in DAMTP and (almost) 4 years of my Junior Research Fellowship
What are the most exciting open questions in your research area?
What is the spectrum of axions we expect from a cosmological network of axion strings? Do we expect these strings to follow a ‘scaling solution’?
What role do you think a network like COSMIC WISPers can play in developing WISP searches in Europe?
This network has already brought me together with several other researchers in the same area. This is already leading to productive new collaborations, which I am sure will yield interesting results!
