Jackson Said
Current position:
Associate professor
Affiliation:
Institute of Space Sciences and Astronomy, University of Malta
Field of research:
Cosmic tensions
What is your career trajectory to date?
I was hired by the University of Malta in 2014 during the time when the Institute of Space Science and Astronomy was being established. The group has since grown to include many postgraduate and doctoral researchers.
What are the most exciting open questions in your research area?
For me, the problem of cosmic tensions and the possibility of understanding the underlying nature of cosmology is one of the most interesting questions in frontier astrophysics today.
What role do you think a network like COSMIC WISPers can play in developing WISP searches in Europe ?
The Cosmic WISPers network can play an important role in connecting different efforts to search for WISPs in Europe and beyond. This may give exciting information on one possible extension of standard cosmology that may shed light on the big questions in frontier cosmology and astrophysics
