Current position:
PhD student
Affiliation:
Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM)
Field of research:
ALP phenomenology
What is your career trajectory to date?
I did my Bachelor in Physics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and at Karls Ruprecht Universität Heidelberg, where I did my bachelor thesis on experimental particle physics. After realizing that I enjoyed theoretical physics way more, I did my Master in Theoretical Physics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, doing my master thesis on ALP phenomenology. Since 2023, I am doing my PhD at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, under the supervision of Dr. Luca Merlo.
What are the most exciting open questions in your research area?
In my opinion, understanding the properties of the ALPs in the context of collider physics is interesting. There are plenty of unknowns, such as exact values of couplings, mass of the ALP, whether there is only one ALP or there are many… From the experimental viewpoint, discovering the existence of the axion/ALPs would represent the discovery of the decade.
What role do you think a network like COSMIC WISPers can play in developing WISP searches in Europe ?
A network like COSMIC WISPers is fundamental to bring together both theoreticians and experimentalists working on WISPs from different perspectives and approaches. By having the resources and this structure to allow the interchange of the ideas and current status both on the experimental and theoretical side, we as scientists get a broader knowledge of what is being
