COSMIC WISPER :
Patricia Diego Palazuelos
Current position:
Postdoc fellow
Affiliation:
Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (Garching, Germany)
Field of research:
Analysis of cosmic microwave background data and, in particular, study of cosmic birefringence
What is your career trajectory to date?
Bachelor in Physics and Master in Particle Physics and Cosmology at the Universidad de Cantabria (Santander, Spain). Finished my PhD on “Fundamental physics with the cosmic microwave background polarization” at the Instituto de Física de Cantabria (Santander, Spain) in October 2023. Postdoc fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (Garching, Germany) since then.
What are the most exciting open questions in your research area?
Are the hints of cosmic birefringence found in Planck and WMAP data a real cosmological signal? Have we found the first evidence of ultra-light axion-like particles?
What role do you think a network like COSMIC WISPers can play in developing WISP searches in Europe?
Join theorists and experimentalists to coordinate a comprehensive search for WISPs across all mass ranges, bridging the gap between the cosmology, astrophysics, and particle physics communities.
